Lone and remote working

Our workshops will provide your lone workers and remote workers with practical skills and solutions to help them assess and manage their own safety and security. By providing these essential skills, you can help ensure that your lone workers are safer, more confident at managing difficult situations and have less stress in their working day.

If you are looking for interactive, engaging and learner centred training; we can deliver a package in person, as live virtual workshops, or as interactive e-learning. Our Trainers are all experienced in helping organisations to put in place practical and effective controls and in engaging with groups from front line workers to senior management.

We are well respected for the work we do to support companies manage lone working. Nicole Vazquez worked with the Vulnerable Workers Team at the HSE to develop their latest guidance on lone working (INDG73) and we run the 3 day Lone Worker Safety Live Theatre at the Health and Safety Event held at the NEC annually, bringing together expert speakers.

Lone Worker
We recognise that lone working happens in many different roles and sectors, and that means that the associated challenges vary too. So, we take the time to find out more about what your lone workers ‘do’ and then prepare bespoke training to meet their needs. We can cover various issues that may be vital for your lone workers:
  • travelling for work,
  • working in other people’s homes,
  • customer facing lone working,
  • working from home,
  • dynamic risk assessments,
  • practical tools for staying in touch,
  • situational awareness,
  • spotting signs of conflict or aggression,
  • defusing difficult situations,
  • exiting situations in a safe and professional way,
  • calling for support and back up,
  • the importance of reporting incidents and gaining support.
For those who manage lone and remote workers, we can provide workshops to ensure they can fulfil their legal responsibilities and business obligations. Depending on your managers’ needs we can include:
  • The legal responsibilities of managing lone workers,
  • How to risk assess lone and remote working,
  • Writing lone working policies and procedures,
  • Identifying those who may not thrive alone,
  • Keeping in touch with lone workers,
  • Choosing and implementing lone worker devices or apps,
  • Managing teams who work remotely,
  • Providing support when things go wrong,
  • Planning for incidents and recovery.

From assistance with equipping staff with essential skills through to fundamentally changing the way your teams work, with over 25 years of experience in the field, we can provide a ‘one stop shop’ for your lone working training needs.
